Have you ever wondered why sport and drama are so popular?! For one, there is no homework, of course! More importantly, though, children can move! There are not many youngsters happy to be stuck on their chair all day, particularly in summer, so what a treat to be able to stretch, bounce and run. Joining up the dots, to make the heavier subjects a little lighter, let’s bring movement into the classroom. There are activities that naturally involve standing and walking but, let’s face it, the desk and chair are still the most familiar props. It doesn’t take much; 2 minutes ‘wriggle time’ can work wonders. Introduce a splash of fun and then back to the nuts and bolts.
