Benenden: This is a full boarding school for 555 girls aged 11 to 18. Children will normally sit the ISEB 11+ Common Entrance Exams to determine 11+ entry. However, the school has its own English and Maths assessments for those who have not been prepared for the 11+ Common Entrance Exams. Those registered for 11+ entry into Year 7 are invited to a Preview Weekend which will take place in October. During the Preview Weekend, the girls will sit an English and a Maths Assessment and each paper is one hour long. These are not computer based. They will also have an informal interview with a member of staff and do group activities and sleep overnight. A report is requested from the current school. After Preview Weekend, places are offered conditional upon passing the Benenden Entrance Exams or the ISEB 11+ Common Entrance. Girls attending overseas schools which do not prepare for Common Entrance will sit the Benenden Entrance Exams in English and Maths only. The English and Maths Entrance Exam papers are each one hour long and are hand-written. The ISEB 11+ Entrance Exams take place towards the end of January at Benenden. 13+ entry is assessed 2 years ahead of entry in Year 7. Girls take the ISEB Pre-Test and attend a Preview Weekend. They may be offered an unconditional place dependent on performance. 16+ entry involves exams in 2 A-Level subjects and GCSE predictions. Overseas students may have exam papers sent to their school and attend a Skype interview. Scholarships awarded are honorary.
