Giggleswick: This is a co-educational day and boarding school for 342 pupils aged 11 to 18. For 11+ entry, students take Giggleswick’s own entrance exams in January of Year 6. This comprises English and Maths tests. An interview and reference are also required. For 13+ entry, students either take 13+ Common Entrance Examinations in Year 8 or, if their school does not prepare for Common Entrance papers, then students will take the school’s own test papers in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning. This is particularly relevant to those in the maintained sector or overseas. These children are also asked to provide a report from their current school. 16+ entrants are required to have an average grade of 6 or higher at GCSE and certain A-Levels require a grade 7 or above. Overseas students may have a Skype interview, write an essay and must have a satisfactory level of English.
