Headington School

Headington School: This is an all-girls day and boarding school for 1055 pupils aged 3 to 18. Headington School has an 11+ Entrance day. There are 11+ entrance exams in English, Mathematics and non-verbal reasoning as well as a short interview. Headington does not use the ISEB 11+ entrance exams but sets its own entrance exams. There are also fun activities organised in Science, Art and sport. 13+ entry is based on the ISEB Common Pre-Test taken in Year 6 for prep school girls or the school’s own exams for those not at prep schools. 16+ entry is based on an interview, general exam paper and GCSE results. A minimum of 8 GCSEs at level 6 or higher are required including English and Maths. A level 7 is expected in subjects to be studied for A-Level. There are scholarship exam days at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Overseas girls must take the entrance exam and interview which can be taken in their own school. They must also take an EAL exam if English is not their first language.
