King Edward VI High School for Girls

King Edward VI High School for Girls: This is a day school for 601 girls aged 11 to 18. For 11+ entry, girls are examined in English and Maths. The school provides their own 11+ entrance exams rather than using the ISEB 11+ Common Entrance papers. The English paper includes comprehension and creative writing. For 16+ entry an academic interview is required and a place may be offered conditional on GCSE results. A minimum grade of 5 is required in Maths and English GCSE and level 7 or 8 in A-Level subjects. Scholarships are available at 11+ and 16+.
