Latymer Upper School
Latymer Upper School: This is a coeducational day school for 1400 students aged 11 to 18. At Latymer Upper School, 11+ is a significant point of entry. There are around 160 places offered at this stage. Children are invited to look round the school on one of the Open Days in early autumn of Year 6 (age 10-11). At the Open Day, there is a talk by the Head and the Head Boy and Girl, followed by a tour by a current pupil. The 11+ exams are in January of Year 6 (age 10-11) and these are set by Latymer Upper School. The papers are in Maths and English. If successful, these 11+ exams will be followed by an interview which will determine whether a place is offered. 16+ entry is through the school’s own exam papers in maths, written communication, problem solving and critical thinking. If successful candidates will be invited to interview. Offers are conditional on a minimum of 9 GCSEs including Maths and English with grades 7-9 in subjects for A-level. Scholarships are usually £1000 but may be larger at the head’s discretion. Overseas candidates must have a UK/EU passport or proof of residency and the tests must be taken at Latymer. There are no language tests.
