Malvern College: This is a co-educational day and boarding school for 641 pupils between the ages of 13 and 18. There are 3 routes for 13+ entry. Pupils should visit in Year 5 or 6. The first route is Common Entrance at 13+ in June of Year 8 requiring an average mark above 50%. The second route is for pupils not at a Common Entrance school and the schools own entrance tests can be taken in English, Maths and Science in January of Year 8. The third route is the Common Academic Scholarship Exam taken in February of Year 8. 14+ entry is possible through the school’s own entrance tests and interview. 15+ entry is possible for overseas students who may study 6 or 7 IGCSEs in one year before moving to the sixth form. 16+ entry can be for either the International Baccalaureate route or A-Level. A minimum of 6 GCSE passes including Maths and English are required with a minimum of 3 grade 6 or higher and grade 6 or higher in A-Level subjects. Entrance tests and an interview with references are also required. Scholarships are available at 13+ and 16+ for up to 50% discount on fees. Overseas students make up 30% of the school. There are international schools in Qingdao, Chengdu, Egypt and Hong Kong.
