New Hall School
New Hall School: This is a day and boarding school for 1205 pupils aged 3 to 18. Boys and girls are taught separately in the senior school. 11+ entry - New Hall has a taster day in October of Year 6 which prospective pupils are encouraged to attend. Following this, entrance into Year 7 is through an interview and 11+ entrance exams in English (multiple choice and a written paper), Maths and Verbal Reasoning. These 11+ exams are held in November of Year 6. Children will also need a report from their current Head. 13+ entrance starts with entrance exams papers in English, Maths and Reasoning in January of Year 8. Following this, applicants may be offered a conditional place. They will still need to pass their 13+ Common Entrance Exams in May/June of Year 8. 16+ entry is based on a report, interview and GCSE predictions. A minimum of two grade 7s and four grade 5s at GCSE are required. Scholarships are available at 11+, 13+ and 16+ and may be up to 50% remission on fees. Awards are based on an exam, interview and school reference. Overseas pupils may take the exams at their current school.
