Queen’s College: This is a day school for 587 girls aged 4 to 18. For admission to Queen’s College Prep School entry at 4+ is non-selective. Parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible after their daughter’s birth. Parents visit the school and meet the Headmistress. Entry at other year groups into the school is through assessment by class teachers. Girls from the prep school take the same entrance exam to the senior school as external candidates. There is no automatic entry to the senior school. 11+ is the main point of entry into the senior school and there are three forms in Year 7. For all candidates seeking entry at 11+, the school is a member of the 11+ London Girls Consortium consisting of 12 schools in London. From 2019 there is a new bespoke cognitive ability test which is 70 minutes long. The format is CEM and consists of questions covering required and an interview testing problem solving, critical thinking and creativity is conducted. The results can be shared with other schools in the consortium maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. It is not online and there are no other written assessments. Most questions are multiple choice. Entry for Year 7 is taken in January of Year 6. The exam is not ISEB 11+ Common Entrance. References from the current school are also required and a separate application must be made for each school. Selected girls will be called for interview and asked to bring a piece of work that they are proud of to form the basis of discussion. Overseas candidates are required to take the assessment at one of the 12 schools in London. The school does not have a licence to sponsor international students without a visa. There is provision for catering for students with English as an Additional Language. 16+ entry is based on an interview, GCSE predictions, references, a minimum performance at GCSE and a written test may be required. Scholarships are available at 11+ and 16+. Currently 11+ scholarships are up to 15% discount on fees.
