Queen’s Gate School
Queen’s Gate School: This is a school for 550 girls aged 4 to 18. Entry at 4+ is the main point of entry to the junior school. Assessments are in January prior to the year of entry. Parents must register at least a year in advance. There is a parent interview and taster days for nursery girls. Entry at 7+ may be possible by examination and scholarships of up to one third of the fees may be awarded. 11+ is the main point of entry to the senior school. The school is a member of the 11+ London Girls Consortium consisting of 12 schools in London. From 2019 there is a new bespoke cognitive ability test which is 70 minutes long. The format is CEM and consists of questions covering required and an interview testing problem solving, critical thinking and creativity is conducted. The results can be shared with other schools in the consortium maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. It is not online and there are no other written assessments. Most questions are multiple choice. Entry for Year 7 is taken in January of Year 6. The exam is not ISEB 11+ Common Entrance. References from the current school are also required and a separate application must be made for each school. An interview will also be conducted. All candidates are considered for the academic scholarship which offers 25% off fees. Entry at 16+ to the sixth form is possible and scholarships up to 25% of the fees are available.
