Shrewsbury School: This is a co-educational day and boarding school for 790 students aged 13 to 18. 13+ entry is via 13+ Common Entrance Exams in June of Year 8 or Shrewsbury's 13+ Academic Scholarship papers in May. If an applicant is at a school where they are not being prepared for Common Entrance, then they can sit Shrewsbury's own papers in November in English, Maths and French. 16+ candidates attend an assessment weekend and choose 4 subjects in which to take exams. Scholarships may be awarded for up to 30% remission on fees for exceptional performance in the entrance exams at either 13+ or 16+. The value may be increased at the Governor’s discretion.
