Wrekin College: This is a co-educational day and boarding school for 473 pupils aged 11 to 18. Interviews and reports from the current school are required. The 11+ Entrance Examination consists of 11+ entrance papers in Maths, English and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The papers are based on the existing Year 6 curriculum. Wrekin College does not use the ISEB 11+ Common Entrance papers. At 13+, Wrekin College accepts either the ISEB 13+ Common Entrance Exams, the Scholarship exam or Wrekin College's own entrance papers. Pupils at Prep Schools take the Common Entrance papers and are expected to achieve a pass mark of 50%. The Wrekin College 13+ own entrance exams take place in November of Year 8 and are primarily for students from the maintained sector or overseas. They consist of papers in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning. 16+ entry is conditional on GCSE results. At least 6 GCSEs grade 9 to 4 are required and at least a 6 in A-Level subjects. Scholarship exams are by invitation only and scholarships between 5 to 25% of the fees may be awarded. Overseas students may be able to take the exams in their own country and if English is not their first language, they will need to take an EFL test.
